Area code map of Delaware

Area code 302 is a telephone area code in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for the U.S. state of Delaware. It is Delaware's only area code, and was assigned in 1947 as one of the original NANP area codes.

Delaware shares a LATA with Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware Valley.[1]

Despite the rapid growth in telecommunication services in the northern part of the state, the 302 telephone numbering pool is not projected to exhaust until 2047.

Statewide 7-digit dialling on local calls will be extinct come October 2021.

Template:10-digit dialing transition Callers who continue to use the traditional way after the permissive period ends will hear recorded messages of the new procedure.
