Err.. Just a point, but yes, the Mesopotamian plain is known as the Fertile Cresent. The cresent of rivers, you see - Tigris, Euphrates, Jordan etc.

Wikipedia's mentioned in http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,1119452,00.asp, as site of the week, June 6 2003. Dont know if/how to incorporate it though Paul Weaver 16:38 6 Jun 2003 (UTC)
