The Digital HiNote is a series of laptop computers that was manufactured by Digital Equipment Corporation between 1995 and 2001.[1]
History
Although Digital was notable for their Alpha architecture and mainframe computers, they also produced x86 PCs.[2]
When Compaq acquired Digital they left the design intact but changed the name to Armada 6500. The HiNote-based series was phased out in 2002.[1]
Wired has argued that the HiNote might have been the first laptop that was pulled from an envelope in a commercial to demonstrate its thinness.[3]
