Wireless tools for Linux is a package maintained by Jean Tourrilhes[1] to facilitate the manipulation of the Linux Wireless Extension.

Package Tools

  • ifrename: Name wireless interfaces.
  • iwconfig: Change and view basic wireless parameters.
  • iwlist: Scanning and listing of information about wireless networks.
  • iwpriv: Manipulate Wireless Extension parameters specific to a driver.
  • iwspy: View node link quality.
