Steve Thull, (born April 23, 1967)[1] is a Luxembourg Army General who is serving as the Chief of Defence of the Luxembourg Army since 2020.
Military career
Born in Esch-sur-Alzette, Thull joined the Luxembourg in 1987 and was commissioned as a Reconnaissance officer upon graduation from Royal Military Academy (Belgium) in 1991. Commissioned as a Lieutenant, he was assigned a reconnaissance platoon at the Military Centre in Diekirch then later took command of a light reconnaissance company. After 1999, he served as a personnel officer and later Deputy Commander at the Military Centre. In 2007, he became assistant to the Studies and Planning officer, then Public affairs officer and then Information and Communications system officer. From 2015 to 2020 he served as the representative for Luxembourg on the NATO Consultation, Command and Control Board before succeeding Alain Duschène as Chief of Defence.
Personal Life
Thull is married and has 3 children. He received a degree in social and military sciences from the Royal Military Academy (Belgium)
