After 2005

Did the awards end in 2005? This article mentions nothing after that year. Format (talk) 20:25, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's over 10 years later and I was wondering the same thing! Added some tags to the article. -- HistoricalAccountings (talk) 12:54, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Merger discussion

Discuss here.

Reason: The "Soapy Awards" became the Soap Opera Digest Awards, so could be an earlier history on the same page - it just makes sense to have them in the same article. Also, both articles are in need of work and expansion, but having them merged might give the overall article more depth before it can be expanded further. -- HistoricalAccountings (talk) 15:07, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. It would help if you'd actually add a summary of your reasons for proposing the merger, rather than just saying "discuss here", but that said I entirely get the issue: essentially the "Soapy Awards" became the "Soap Opera Digest Awards". And while there can sometimes be situations where separate articles are genuinely warranted when one thing becomes another, this isn't one of them — neither article is particularly long or well-sourced as it is, so there's no pressing need for two separate articles treating them as separate topics.
