Total Hi Def discs, also called a Total HD or THD discs, is an optical disc that will contain both rival high-definition optical disc formats, Sony's Bluray and Toshiba's HD DVD. Officially announced at [[Time Warner|Warner Bros] / Warner Home Video's press conference held at CES 2007 on the 8th of January 2007.[1]. One side will contain a single or dual-layer Blu-Ray format, and the other will contain a single or dual-layer HD DVD format. The disc will remain 1.2 mm, the standard for both formats and DVD[2]. Warner Bros. stated at their press conference that first Total HD releases will come out in the second half of 2007, no specific titles have yet been announced.
