Patience, of the Bondsmagi appears and offers the pair a deal. They can work with her faction of the Bondsmagi in order to rig elections in exchange for money and Locke's life. The catch is the fact that Sabetha is working for the other side. |

It is a fall-out that will pit both men against Locke's own long lost love. Sabetha is Locke's childhood sweetheart, the love of Locke's life and now it is time for them to meet again. The Republic of Thieves is the third novel in Scott Lynch's Gentleman Bastard series. It details the continuing adventures of Locke Lamora and Jean Tannen, as well as Sabetha, Locke's previously absent love interest. The Republic of Thieves was released on October 8th in the US and October 10th in the UK & Commonwealth. It is published by Random House and Orion.
