Das ist eine Liste der Basiliken der Römisch-katholischen Kirche. Eine Basilika ist eine Kirche mit bestimmten Privilegien, die ihr der Papst eingeräumt hat. Nicht alle Kirchen mit der Bezeichnung Basilika in ihrem Titel haben diesen kirchenrechtlichen Status (Basilicae ab immemorabilis, ‚von Alters her, seit Ewigkeiten‘).[1] Außerdem ist Basilika auch eine Bezeichnung für einen architktonischen Konstruktionstyp im Kirchenbau, was in keinem Zusammenhang mit dem Kirchentitel steht.
