I apologize for reverting you at Utoro, Uji. Didn't realize until just shortly ago that it was you. I wrongly concluded from the all caps on the template and the unfamiliar editor name that it was a new user making a test edit of some kind. I'm very, very sorry! —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 02:09, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
? Could you explain the confusion it is causing? I'm not seeing any posts on the talk page for that article about the image. seefooddiet (talk) 04:33, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
That is one of the most well known players in the sport of dodgeball. The point is to help grow the sport. There was no need for it to be changed in the first place. Thatdodgeballguy (talk) 04:34, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
That was referenced in many places across the web and would be greatly appreciated for reversion. There was no reason to change it in the first place. Thatdodgeballguy (talk) 04:55, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
Per WP:ONUS, it would be up to YOU to start the discussion on the talk page. Also be aware that BLPs are a contentious topic. I am not sure you meant the tone but it did not sound WP:CIVIL when I read it. CNMall41 (talk) 07:21, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
Prior to threatening to escalate to RfC without discussion, you may also may want to review the talk page history where the source you used was already stated not to be reliable for inclusion. --CNMall41 (talk) 07:30, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
I meant that you should post on the talk page of the respective article, not on my talk page. Nobody can see this conversation. And no, I did not mean to be rude, and talking about going to RFC is not a threat. seefooddiet (talk) 07:30, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
For others reading, this was my edit comment: "Disagree. If want to undo again, please post on talk page. If this escalates I'm willing to go to WP:RFC; I'm pretty confident in this."
I wouldn't say this is rude? It's certainly firm, which was my intent, but nothing in this would constitute a threat to most people. seefooddiet (talk) 07:32, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
Regardless, I would again suggest checking talk page history prior to being "firm." Threatening to escalate to RfC without discussion (which is the process) is certainly more than "firm" in my opinion. But here we are. --CNMall41 (talk) 07:33, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
CNMall41, I just said I didn't intend to be rude, and I think most people would agree I wasn't there. There's no need to rib me with the sarcastic quotes, that's explicitly not civil. User edited their comment.
I read what you wrote and believe it was not your intent. Understand that regardless of intent, the statement was more than firm based on the threat to escalate to RfC in lieu of following the process. And yes, the talk page is where the discussion needs to be had (and already was had if you look at the above link). --CNMall41 (talk) 07:37, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
Repeatedly drilling that past talk post into me is also unnecessary.
Please pause for a second. Dial it back. I'm not mad at you and didn't mean to come off rude. Let's please discuss this without drilling things into each other. seefooddiet (talk) 07:40, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
I apologize for mentioning the RFC early. It was not meant to be a threat, it was more an expression that I'm confident in my opinion (even with that thread you linked). But your response to this, even after I tried to deescalate, was to continually drill and prod me relentlessly instead of slowing down. I'm still taken aback by how intense your backlash was. seefooddiet (talk) 07:45, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
Nothing needs dialed back. I do not think you intended any harm based on your statement, but stating that intent or not it wasn't appropriate. When an editor says something like that, it can easily be taken as a threat to someone to not restore the content. Maybe you disagree. There's no deescalation needed as there was no escalation. I am not mad at you either as I don't let Wikipedia stir up feelings. As far as "repeatedly drilling," I was reminding of you the past discussion. Since you didn't address it initially after I provided the link, I was assuming you may have missed it. I'm dropping the stick as I don't have time for back and forth but will gladly opine on the talk page should you start the discussion. --CNMall41 (talk) 07:51, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
Even this response is needlessly condescending and combative; no effort to accept my apology or deescalate. How are you not seeing how needlessly aggressive your response is in response to a misunderstanding?
Frankly you win; this discussion was so neurotic and I don't have the emotional energy to deal with how neurotic a talk page discussion about Rober will be. I'll link this discussion on Rober's talk page because it's relevant. seefooddiet (talk) 07:56, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
I guess I am not understanding the issue. There is no need for an apology. I also was not escalating, only responding to your replies. This isn't a "need to be right" or "win"" situation. I think you can understand how I mistook your tone by the way you are mistaking mine. --CNMall41 (talk) 08:03, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
But here we are. Unnecessary and meant as a jab.
And yes, the talk page is where the discussion needs to be had (and already was had if you look at the above link). The parenthetical side note here reads sarcastic, the first note about the talk page was sufficient. Furthermore, it leaves no room for discussion; that talk post linked I'd argue is not settled fact, but you present it that way. The wording here was avoidable, not just an innocent reminder.
I'm dropping the stick as I don't have time for back and forth As if my efforts to deescalate are not worth the time.
There is no need for an apology. I also was not escalating, only responding to your replies. Disagree.
I've made no similar jabs to these in this thread. If your next response is just doubling down, I'm not going to reply. Apparently not worth your time anyway, despite the continued responses. seefooddiet (talk) 08:11, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
I saw from your user page that you are working on Korean articles. When looking at the wiki page for The Korea Herald I saw that it is in a bad state as it relies to heavily on primary sources. At the time I was editing Smilegate and some other korean companies, I found two sources that discuss the Korean Herald to different extents. Since you are interested in Korean articles, I thought you might be interested as a lot of articles probably end up citing this newspaper. I opened a discussion on the talk page here where I go over the sources. In the end, I didn't feel I found enough sources, and I suspect there are much more sources in Korean. J2UDY7r00CRjH (talk) 16:41, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
It's already been done; I'm just following Wikipedia policy. If you'd like to keep the article around, you can locate more reliable sources and put them in the deletion discussion. I'll change my vote if you can find more. seefooddiet (talk) 05:59, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
I thought about this a bit. The current MOS (not the draft) says to use RR. Even if it doesn't talk about the hyphen, the official RR guidance does. In other words, regardless of which version of the MOS is being applied, hyphens are discouraged. seefooddiet (talk) 07:47, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
In my opinion, until the whole/partial draft is in production that already explicitly mentions on official RR stand and hyphens on RR usage, before we start to discouraged usage of hyphens in {{Korean}} and {{Infobox Korean name}}. At least, we have an explicitly official English Wikipedia documentation to reference on hyphens in RR on where is it indeed discourage. —Paper9oll(🔔 • 📝)08:05, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
I lean agree; explaining the edit each time is too cumbersome. I'll hold back on similar hyphen removals until the draft is approved. Thanks for bringing this up! seefooddiet (talk) 08:15, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
Just curious, are there any other permissions you'd like in addition to extended-confirmed? I noticed your old account also had autopatrolled. Elli (talk | contribs) 23:52, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
Yes, autopatrolled would be nice too. If you can approve me for AWB that'd be nice too, but I can request that myself as well. seefooddiet (talk) 23:53, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
I was just taking care of some PROD'd articles on Korean footballers, saw your RTV account name and when I looked into it, saw you were now using this username. Nice to see you back! I posted a good-bye message but it was deleted from your User talk page soonafter, apparently because you had requested to keep this page blank. As long as you weren't being harassed or anything, you might go to your previous account and redirect the User and User talk pages here. Glad we have you back! Thanks for responding. I'll be talking about some prominent sources over there next few weeks, and I'll appreciate if you drop by occasionally. Emiya Mulzomdao (talk) 02:23, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
I obviously didn't go through them all to check if every single one was made by you, but since they are similar and have similar deletion rationales, I figured that they might be. (From an initial batch of 111 I sifted out one that was prodded by LibStar and one by Simione) If that's the case, it is obviously a misunderstanding or misuse of the WP:PROD process. Do you understand why? It's because people have to have the chance to go through the various candidates, and see if they really are worthy of deletion. Maybe some or even tens of them are, but the possibly good ones are lost in an ocean. 10 prods in a day, maybe, even that is stretching it, but 109 is bordering on Wikipedia:Disruptive editing and also looks like some kind of WP:POINT. Editors have to show more diligence than this - and also provide more accurate reasons for deletion. Geschichte (talk) 05:55, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
Oops, it's a misunderstanding; I apologize. I should have done more due diligence in understanding how PROD works before using it so much.
Thanks. Generally speaking, articles shouldn't be PRODed twice, but you can nominate them for deletion through WP:AFD. Part of the WP:PRODNOM process (prong 4) is to consider alternatives to deletion first, which includes improving the article by editing. I interpret that to mean that the PROD nominator should do a name search of both the English and native name first to see if there are sources. I'm going through them to see which have sourcing now but I'm not sure if I can get to them all. --Habst (talk) 13:12, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
While being mindful of the fact that I didn't do enough due diligence or research before some of these prods, I'm a little skeptical of some of the deproding. [1] Some of these sources given during the deproding aren't very substantial. I may move to a deletion discussion for some of them regardless. seefooddiet (talk) 22:21, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
@Seefooddiet, thanks, I think that is fair. Re: the link, Olympedia is actually not a wiki, it's run by Bill Mallon and was officially affiliated with the Olympics at the time that profile was added, so I think it's suitable to use as a source especially when biography prose like the Worlds finishes are added. --Habst (talk) 12:50, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
I'm sorry, but this is just ridiculous. It is inappropriate to mass PROD – with no BEFORE whatsoever – well over 100 historical Olympians with the only explanation effectively being 'not notable' (an argument to avoid). I removed the PRODs; I'd say that likely even a majority of those might be notable (given South Korea seems to have decent coverage of their Olympians), especially if one were to actually look in the appropriate places (e.g. South Korean newspaper archives). You can AFD some of them now that they've been dePRODed, but please do some sort of BEFORE search next time and make sure you're doing it in a reasonable quantity; no one is going to be able to sort through the notable ones when there's over 100 nominated rapidly. BeanieFan11 (talk) 15:10, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
I've been doing some fixes of "the the", and I noticed one of your AWB edits changed:

According to the [[The Korea Times]]
I just wanted to say those automatic redirect replacements should be used with care and ideally individually checked when you have them enabled in an edit. Not a big deal, just something worth keeping in mind with AWB functions that change prose. Retro (talk | contribs) 18:49, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for pointing that out. I really do check every individual change; I just make some mistakes. I'll add a line in my script to check for that error. seefooddiet (talk) 18:55, 27 October 2024 (UTC)

Please do not merge Dex Kim Jin Young to his Korean wikipedia, Dex (Youtuber). The fans asked for an International wikipedia page for Dex since they are unable to search for the korean wiki in english on Google. Moreover, the DEX Kim Jin Young page has more updated and detailed facts about Dex. Bengoshi0 (talk) 04:00, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
Or if all the details on the DEX Kim Jin Young page can be transferred, and the fans could search his wikipedia page in english, that would be great. Bengoshi0 (talk) 04:01, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
An international wikipedia page would mean - searching Dex's name in english and his wikipedia page showing up. Anyway, if that could be done, I couldn't care less if the article gets deleted. All the fans wanted is just to have a searchable wikipedia page for Dex as they thought he is famous enough to have one. Bengoshi0 (talk) 04:12, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
Glad to do it; Wikipedia's reputation for rigor also impacts my own writing on the website and I was in a unique position to contribute as a Korean speaker. seefooddiet (talk) 18:39, 10 November 2024 (UTC)

Hi seefooddiet, your AWB cleanup script is sometimes adding |trans-script-title= to citation templates instead of |script-title= (example). That isn't a valid parameter, so it's causing CS1 errors. Please fix the script to not cause errors. Thanks! :Jay8g [V•T•E] 04:47, 16 November 2024 (UTC)

Out of curiosity, what exactly do you mean by your reference to the Japanese Wikipedia? I'm not familiar with whatever it is you're talking about. Clovermoss🍀(talk)07:09, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for bringing it to my attention! I have a lot of projects I'm currently working on, and I suspect other people are likely to take on this topic (both non-Koreans and Koreans are widely interested in the topic and public knowledge of it is relatively high), so my motivation to work on it is a little lower. If I do take this on it'll be at least 3-4 months later. seefooddiet (talk) 10:20, 19 December 2024 (UTC)

Korean articles
Hey! I've been looking for interesting article writing areas to write in, and the South Korean articles offer you posted to WP:REWARD seems enticing (I don't need the money though, I'd just like to help, you can donate it to a charity if you'd like when I make each article). I have a working competency in reading/writing Korean. Thanks for offering this! :) MolecularPilot🧪️✈️10:44, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
Sure! And note that anything pre-1948 Korea is also fair game, not just South Korea topics. Lmk if you ever need help with any articles. If someone else needs help as well, I may reach out to you if that's ok! seefooddiet (talk) 10:52, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
Sure, I'm more than happy to help anyone out if they need it, it's just that Korean is my 2nd language so I probably won't be able to help people interpret any academic sources or papers. Thanks again for running this, I think I will work on Three Kingdoms of Korea (it's top-importance) because someone else back on the other page was asking for help with that article, and it would be great to help 2 people at once! :) MolecularPilot🧪️✈️04:11, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for taking that topic on, indeed important 🙂 I think coverage of it in English should be more than enough. Some narrower topics like Park Chung Hee and Sejong the Great have surprisingly poor coverage in English; I was thinking about those. But broad historical periods are pretty well served in English seefooddiet (talk) 04:33, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
Can you wait for about 10 minutes when another user is editing? I was adding related sources according to the editing format. If possible, I will try to include the sources together with the main text in the future. Goodtiming8871 (talk) 13:42, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
Per [2] I'd like to request that you withhold from editing those articles in the near future. Are you a Korean speaker by any chance? I've noticed that you've been mistranslating things; on a WP:BLP and on a page about a national crisis I think it's worrying. I wouldn't feel comfortable making these mistakes... Alledging the allowing of the use of swords is really serious. seefooddiet (talk) 13:45, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
Some baklava for you!
Hi Seefood diet
Thank you for your contribution. I will try to follow your suggestion. I have corrected the grammar below. Could you please review and add it to the lead section?
Thanks for being receptive. We don't use "Mr." on Wikipedia, per MOS:MR. There's an extra space and comma in that sentence. In the lead of that article, it already mentions the impeachment. Treason and sedition may be able to go in, but those are just investigations. I think may be better to wait until he's actually convicted for those to go in. seefooddiet (talk) 13:24, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for your feedback. It's an issue that has caused national harm even before the guilty verdict, so I think it would be good to include that part, so I'm planning to include it with more supporting references. Goodtiming8871 (talk) 13:47, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
Please, please consider holding back. Each of these edits has issues in them and the topic is so sensitive that I'm not sure these edits are helping the situation. I may ask others to take a look at these edits and give their thoughts on whether they are appropriate if this continues. seefooddiet (talk) 13:50, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
Hello SeeFooddiet,
I am an American who speaks Korean like you.The following content contains information that Yoon Seok-yeol ordered the use of a knife. If you accidentally missed the information and please reverted it, Or I can do it later.
The first ref contains the relevant content (e.g. about Knife) in the video included in the news, and
the second ref contains the relevant content in the text.
Translated news content:
"He reportedly gave instructions to 'stop the police who were coming to arrest me with a knife, even if they were not guns,'" the report said.
Original news content: ‘나를 체포하려고 접근하는 경찰들에게 총은 안 되더라도 칼이라도 휴대해서 무조건 막으라’는 지시를 했다고 한다”고 전했다.
Yoon Seok-yeol requested the Presidential Security Service to use force such as a sword to stop the police who were coming to arrest him. Executives of the Presidential Security Service complained that Yoon Seok-yeol's instructions were wrong, and sent 15 security guards on leave. [1][2]
칼 is not necessarily "sword", it more frequently refers to knives. Swords would be bizarre in 2025. Are you a Korean speaker? seefooddiet (talk) 14:21, 14 January 2025 (UTC)

Thank you very much for contributing various information about South Korea. I work on Korean Wikipedia and English Wikipedia. WP:NONENGCitations to non-English reliable sources are allowed on the English Wikipedia. Hi Seefooddiet, regarding your post on the list of South Korean national treasures, I actually wanted awhile ago to try and create something about the Jeju treasures list (제주특별자치도의보물). However, there are so many more hundreds of them, and I couldn't find a comprehensive list. There are so many that I doubt they all have notability, but they might work as a list. They aren't really covered on ko.wiki either. Are you aware of any information on the topic? Best, CMD (talk) 07:02, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
I found that list too, but it doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for. For example, I was also looking at creating an article for the Tamnasullyeokdo (탐라순력도), which is supposedly Treasure No. 652-6 (보물 제652-6호). CMD (talk) 08:22, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
Ah thanks! That's very helpful and makes a lot of sense, clearly I have encountered a bit of local pride, possibly as the National Treasure (South Korea) does not include anything in Jeju. I did find ko:탐라순력도, but as you can see sadly not that many sources to work from. I see one or two places in Historic Sites (South Korea) which might be easier to write about, maybe I'll start with them in a week or so. If I do I'll put them into your WT:KR section. Oh wow, those are nice articles. The etymology part of Bangsatap is very enlightening; I don't think I ever came across the word bangsatap, but did come across dap and geobuk. I have quite a few topics in my mind relating to Jeju that need articles, I just need to find the time to sort through my thoughts. I have noticed that even ko.wiki pages lack images for places in Jeju, so I will try and get around to finding some of those too. CMD (talk) 09:33, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
Just a quick question: do any sources in Korean cover this album? It would help a lot in determining its notability. — 💽 🌙Eclipse 💽 🌹 ⚧ (she/they) talk/edits11:29, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

Article for Submission needs a reviewer who understands Korean
Hi @Seefooddiet. I’m reaching out because, given your understanding of Korean, I believe you’d be an excellent fit to review my draft, which includes multiple Korean sources. My draft was previously declined due to concerns about notability, but the individual I wrote about is indeed well-known. The challenge seems to be that most of the available news coverage is in Korean, which may have made it difficult for previous reviewers to assess properly. If you have the time, I’d really appreciate it if you could take a look at my submission: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Chung_Kisun. Thank you! Haileyworks (talk) 00:14, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
I think he's likely notable by enwiki standards but would need to research more in depth. Given the drama in that family I imagine there's adequate sourcing.
I think Safari Scribe's comment is applicable: The sources were all about HD Hyundai, hence WP:NOTINHERIT applies here. On a quick search I'm also having a hard time finding a source that discusses him significantly in depth separately from HD Hyundai. I encourage you to add sources to that effect and add them. I'll vouch for you once you do. seefooddiet (talk) 00:41, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
@Seefooddiet that’s incredibly helpful—I truly appreciate it. It’s great to see someone knowledgeable about the Chung family’s history. Following Safari Scribe’s comment, I added dozens of sources detailing Kisun Chung’s independent business activities, and with your advice, I’ve further expanded and reinforced them. I would be grateful if you could review the current 30+ references and let me know if there’s anything else I can do to improve the piece. Haileyworks (talk) 05:17, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
[22] (the 조선비즈 source) probably has the most discussion of him separately from the context of anything Hyundai related. I haven't looked in detail through many of the sources though; there's a lot to read. Could you point out several sources you think most discuss him separately outside of Hyundai? seefooddiet (talk) 06:43, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
Sure. Sources [4] (Fortune Korea) and [6] (Hankyung Business) provide more detailed discussions of his role, while other news sources mention him in various business contexts, albeit to a lesser extent.
I've also revised the text to make it more neutral overall, following the advice of the other editor, Ca. (Previously, I had largely quoted expressions from the mentioned sources.)
Hi @Seefooddiet, I really appreciate your help in improving my first article the other day! I'm excited about this very first milestone and look forward to seeing what's ahead in my journey on Wikipedia. I have one more question - I was wondering if there’s anything I can do to get the article patrolled, as it doesn’t seem to appear in Google search results yet. Would you be able to assist with this once again? Thanks in advance! Haileyworks (talk) 07:49, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
I'm personally not very involved in the patrolling or new page review part of the website; I think there's a large backlog for both of them. I think you may need to wait. If you edit for long enough and become trusted, you can receive the WP:AUTOPATROL privilege; I have it. seefooddiet (talk) 19:50, 13 February 2025 (UTC)

Douglas19485u (talk) 23:38, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
Hi, I noticed that you've been utilizing {{ill}} in citation templates, like here. However, the documentation of Template:Interlanguage link states that it should not be used in citation templates because it pollutes the COinS metadata they produce. You will need to go back and remove such instances. Perhaps consider an alternative, like adding just a simple red link instead. ✗plicit12:38, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
Fyi unfortunately I've made this change on probably thousands of pages by now. It'll take me time to get through undoing it. I'll work on it. seefooddiet (talk) 17:07, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
Respectfully disagree with the need for that; that bit showing is just a sample of the raw changes that my WP:AWB script makes. That bit is a highly visible notice for me to manually fix something that my script doesn't fully capture. I always successfully remove that notice from the actual edit itself. I think people are able to comfortably ignore it and it shouldn't be distracting for almost all people. seefooddiet (talk) 06:57, 23 March 2025 (UTC)
please fix your awb script
At this edit, your script broke references 112 and 113. {{Korean}} has a note, right at the top of its documentation that says that the template should not be used in cs1|2 templates. In this particular case, the Korean text is already correctly marked-up because it is in |script-title=.
I saw that you changed from Korean-American to just American, I'm aware of WP:KO-ETHNICITY but Mike Kim's Korean ethnicity contributes significantly to his notability source-wise. What do you think? CherryPie94 🍒🥧 (talk) 02:19, 8 April 2025 (UTC)

Hi seefooddiet, sorry I have not kept my commitment to work on a couple of articles, my computer died in January but it's back now! Spoiler alert, I've got a draft for Historic site 396, and have some pictures to upload for it. However, I've gotten distracted by some related articles and wondering if Traditional Korean roof construction#Stone giwa (tile) should be its own article, so I'm looking at those too. Anyway, I was wondering if you had access to this article? Could be useful for two articles, but I haven't found more than the first page. Best, CMD (talk) 09:48, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
No worries, write at your own pace 🙂
It probably should have its own article. Unfortunately I don't have access to paid EArticle papers. I do have access to DBpia, but my access is view-only; can't download papers. Do you use Discord btw? I don't remember if I've seen you around there. If you join the WP:DISCORD, we have a thread where people may be able to help you out getting access to things. seefooddiet (talk) 19:01, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
Someone on the discord said they may be able to get it for you; they just need to be on their university campus to download. If you end up finding another solution lmk, otherwise I'll let you know if they get it. seefooddiet (talk) 19:49, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
I'm not on the discord, I do have an account for other purposes but it has a completely different username and I don't have nitro. I don't have great solutions for earticle, I mostly see if they're elsewhere. Lots of Jeju stuff on http://jst.re.kr/ luckily. CMD (talk) 00:26, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
I think it's on DBpia here? Also can't find this one, although it's probably less useful. Relatedly, ko:환해장성 doesn't have any photos. Do you have any personal ones? I checked my photos and they're quite bad, can barely tell what's the wall. CMD (talk) 05:33, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
The paper on DBpia is an external link; it links to a paywalled article on the Korea Citation Index, so I can't access it.
I'm wary of KOGL, understanding copyright details is tricky enough in a fluent language. I'll have a look through the other places though for the fortresses I'm looking into. CMD (talk) 06:08, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
Going back to the last time we talked, I've found ko:제주특별자치도의 기념물. Not treasures, but it is a provincial monument list. Problem is, I'm not sure how to name it on en.wiki. CMD (talk) 15:49, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
"Monuments of Jeju Province" maybe? Although maybe "monuments" overlaps with general monuments. Hmm. I think as long as the lead is scoped appropriately may be ok to use that title anyway seefooddiet (talk) 18:19, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
I'm not too worried about scoping, that is a matter for the article not the title. It's more wondering how to pick what to translate. For example, "Special Self-Governing Province" seems to be often in the official Korean names, but doesn't always make it into English, such as common reference to the "Jeju police" in English news reports. That said, "Jeju Province" is certainly more wp:concise, so that may be the way to go, so perhaps I'll duplicate that list on a free day. Do you reckon 용담지석묘s 1-6 are all independently notable? Might be a bit much to redlink them. CMD (talk) 00:06, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
The same source gives specific revision dates as follows: "By order of King Sŏngjong, it was revised successively in 1469, 1471, 1481 and finally published in 1485."
I think these are slightly different to the dates in the article, which currently don't have citations. However, I don't know enough about this area to make the appropriate revisions (if required). Perhaps it is something you could look at. merlinVtwelve (talk) 22:00, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
From quick research, my guess is that the current Wikipedia article is accurate.
[6] This source from a National Institute of Korean History website says that 1469 was when a revision was ordered, but that revision wasn't carried out because the king that ordered it died. The next king ordered a revision that began (I think? text is kinda contradictory) in 1470 and was completed in 1471, called the Sinmyo taejŏn (matches current Wikipedia article). This link doesn't mention 1481 nor any year around that; it does mention 1485 though.

Papabile
Thanks for getting the SD down to 40 characters. I think you misunderstood my edit summary. I wasn't concerned that you wanted to get the SD down to 40 characters. I was quite concerned, however, with your wording. "Candidate" is not a good description of papabile. All cardinals are "candidates". Papabile are those that are most likely to become pope. I also disagree that having one or two characters over 40 will cause the SD to "get truncated in notable places". If the SD was 50 or 60 characters I would agree with you, but not 42 or 43 Nor do I think that accuracy in wording (i.e., not using the word "candidate") is being "sternly told what to do". In any event, you made the SD 40 characters without using the word "candidate", and I appreciate that. Cheers! Sundayclose (talk) 00:58, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
I appreciate you reaching out to clear things up. The sternness impression came from a combination of the messages 99.99% chance it will be a cardinal. AGAIN, every cardinal is a "candidate"... Don't sacrifice accuracy and quality over a few characters. Can you see how the net effect may make it may read like I was being lectured or told what to do? I think clearly wasn't intent though, so no harm done and am glad to move past this. seefooddiet (talk) 01:04, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
I'd offer $150. Reasoning for not offering more: there's a large amount of English-language information on this war, it's on a topic that already interests many people, and article already has a good amount of quality sourcing and information. seefooddiet (talk) 01:31, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
Tentatively $200, possibly more. I know for sure there's a good amount of important information on him that's not available in English. But there's a good amount of quality information on him in English as well, probably enough for most foreign readers, so it's probably still doable. seefooddiet (talk) 01:36, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
No reward for either; per terms of my original post, I exclude NK topics because they have a good amount of coverage already. seefooddiet (talk) 01:46, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
Can you speak Korean? Reward higher for topics where information is often unavailable in English but topic is important seefooddiet (talk) 02:09, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
It seems like you're a newer editor; I'd recommend trying to get some other easier article on a less major topic up to GA level first before trying to take this on. Higher importance articles are generally harder to get to GA.
If you're a newer editor, I'd recommend you exercise caution when editing Park's article. Not an easy task. He's one of the most difficult people in the world to write on; extremely complicated legacy. I struggled while writing my portion of his article. seefooddiet (talk) 03:53, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
In other words, I'd like to see you get a low/medium importance article up to GA first. Park is arguably one of the most important South Koreans in history; I'd rather someone more experienced take that article on. seefooddiet (talk) 03:56, 2 May 2025 (UTC)

Hello! Thank you for your attention to the Chŏng Munbu article. I'd like to address the recent edits regarding the date format. This article primarily uses the Gregorian calendar (solar calendar) for dates. In cases where only the month is known and an exact conversion is not possible, the date has been written following the MOS:KO-CALENDAR format. Therefore, unless a date is clearly marked in accordance with the MOS:KO-CALENDAR format for lunar dates, please assume it refers to the Gregorian calendar. Thank you again! W/r/t the file name, that edit was made through WP:AWB; there's unfortunately no way to preview rendered output in AWB. I appreciate you catching the error. While using AWB, my script sometimes makes hundreds of changes on a single page, so it's often easy for me to miss single mistakes like that. But my success rate is very high; I've made probably tens of thousands of AWB edits and have only gotten maybe 5 comments pointing out mistakes. grapesurgeon (seefooddiet) (talk) 06:11, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

You are welcome to try again; check Page information after a single edit to see if you introduced Linter errors. I am available to help if you get stuck. – Jonesey95 (talk) 13:27, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
Roughly how many have been reverted? Looking at several thousand edits in my edit history I'm not spotting anything grapesurgeon (seefooddiet) (talk) 13:42, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
I reverted about 20 articles. The problem comes from putting Infobox Korean name/auto inside |footnotes=. That parameter opens a div tag in one table cell and closes it in a different table cell. You can see the results if you put the whole Infobox country section in Special:ExpandTemplates. (P.S. You can ignore the night mode and duplicate ID Linter errors.)– Jonesey95 (talk) 13:58, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
Ah yeah you're right. I was just about to post comment with same conclusion. For others reading, I had made these edits 100% manually; no AWB. This was just a misunderstanding on my part about how {{Infobox country}} works.
To address this, I may request that an additional parameter |module= get added to Infobox country. Then I'll reattempt these edits.
Ah yeah nice. Should I go ahead and request the edit to the template? It seems like you're a template editor; are you willing to edit it while we're at it? grapesurgeon (seefooddiet) (talk) 14:10, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
I recommend that you request that edit and explain why it is needed. You might check the template talk page to see if there has been a previous discussion. If there are no objections, I will implement the change. – Jonesey95 (talk) 14:15, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
Hi grapesurgeon, I noticed you made some helpful edits on some earlier articles I wrote about South Korean professional golfers and I was wondering if you could lend a hand?
I've made a few more for the Women in Red project, and as you were so great correcting the Korean text, I was wondering if you could check these new ones for any mistakes with the translations? I'd really appreciate it.
The articles are Lee So-mi, Kim Su-ji (golfer), Hwang You-min, and Yoo Hyun-jo.
Nice work! Only notable thing I saw is use of Maeil Business Newspaper's English articles; those articles were translated using unvetted machine translation, and are thus unreliable. See WP:KO/RS for more. grapesurgeon (seefooddiet) (talk) 22:13, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
Sorry for bothering you, but can you please take care of this first? I need to update the documentation and go to other wikis that copied the module. 172.56.232.142 (talk) 20:51, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
I guess I missed one. How odd that once you remove a template, people verify sources, but when it's attached, nobody looks. Thanks for catching that! Dillard421♂♂(talk to me)16:29, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
No worries; I put the template there originally and knew about the unreliable sources. They're almost entirely gone now (there's one disney-related source that's classified unreliable left).
I will do that now! I'm always down for reliable tools! I was just reading your user page. We both use AWB! I've been a Wikipedia user for, gosh, I think 15 years, haha It's always nice to meet an older user, such as me. Dillard421♂♂(talk to me)16:44, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
Possibly. I've said this before, but I'd rather Wikipedians not spend much time on him past the bare minimum. Neurotic attention seekers like him are everywhere nowadays. They relish even negative attention; by giving him all this exposure, even on Wikipedia, we're giving him what he wants. Better to just spend bare minimum on upkeep for the article, then otherwise ignore and move on. More societally beneficial things that need attention. Despite my edit count on that article, I've not spent much time on him; I plan on keeping it that way. grapesurgeon (seefooddiet) (talk) 22:26, 27 June 2025 (UTC)
