Sayeem Shams is an aspiring Writer, Translator from Bangladesh. He started his practice by making/ translating Bengali subtitle for Foregin Movies. Early Life and Education
[edit]Born at Bogra CMH (Combined Military Hospital) in Bangladesh. From child age he had a great interest about technical side of toys, electronics etc. According to his interest he got admission in a Technical school & completed his Secondary School Certificate exam from there. His technical major subject was Electricity. Following this track he took admission in Dhaka Polytechnic Institute. It was a 4 (four) years Diploma Programme on Electrical engineering. Currently he is completing final year of this course.
Interest in literacy
[edit]When he was in second year of his Diploma Programme, suddenly he felt curiosity about Foreign literacy. He started to read various kind of Foreign Novels. As a result of continuously reading he found himself as a fan of Foreign literacy. Gradually he became a bookworm. Usually he read translated books from Sheba Prokashoni. And that time he decide that, he want to do something with Foreign literacy. There are a lot of great Foreign Novels, they should be translated in Bengali. So, many native readers can enjoy them easily.
But translating a Novel is not easy as it seems. It needs a lot of skill and patience. To gain skill and make himself experienced in translating work he started to make Bengali subtitle for Foreign Movies like Hollywood, Bollywood etc. By making this subtitles he got direct feedback from viewers. Fortunately, all feedback were positive and within few months he became a popular subtitle maker in Bangla Subtitle Community. Then he stepped forward to translate novel.
