Article Selection
[edit]Please list articles that you're considering for your Wikipedia assignment below. Begin to critique these articles and find relevant sources.
Option 1
[edit]- Reckless homicide
- This is a very short article that briefly describes what reckless homicide is. That being said, there is not much content in the article and the article does not cover important aspects, such as the punishment for this crime. I would work on adding content if I were to select this article.
- [1]
Option 2
[edit]- Regulatory offence
- The lead describes the topic well, but the rest of the article does not dive into explaining the topic thoroughly. Instead it begins talking about different types of criminal offences without linking them to regulatory offences. I would add examples of each type of offense and how they relate to the main topic of regulatory offences.
- [2] [3]
Option 3
[edit]- Conviction rate
- This article focuses on conviction rates in many different large countries around the world, including the United States. While it does describe the term, "conviction rate", well, it does not describe how a conviction is defined in different places and which convictions are actually added to the rate. I would choose to focus on updating the numbers for the U.S. conviction rate and describing what factors contribute to that rate.
- [4]
Option 4
[edit]- Duplicity (law)
- This article needs to be expanded upon and needs to have more citations for its claims. An example of this law being put into effect would be helpful in clarifying the role that this law plays in the court system. I would also emphasize that this is a U.S. law or if it is the ruling for many different countries.
