Morgann George Simpson (born 29 October 1998)[1] is an English drummer, best known as a member of rock band Black Midi. Noted for his technical ability and prodigious skill, he is considered one of the best drummers of his generation.[2][3][4]

Beginning attendance in 2015, it was at the BRIT School where Simpson would meet fellow students Geordie Greep, Matt Kwasniewski-Kelvin and Cameron Picton where they would then form Black Midi in 2017. They have since released three studio albums, Schlagenheim, Cavalcade, and Hellfire, all to critical acclaim.

Early life

[edit]

Morgann George Simpson was born on 29 October 1998, and grew up in Hertfordshire. Being the son of his mother, a vocal coach, and his father, a guitar teacher, Simpson's first exposures to music came at a very early age. His parents had noticed a keen sense of rhythm within him by the time he was just a year old, clapping in time to music on TV and hitting pots and pans.
