PSTalent is an American provider of on-demand Internet streaming media production company intended for viewers worldwide on the PlayStation 3 game console. The company is also a licensed video game developer and publisher for Sony Computer Entertainment.[2]

History

[edit]

The company was established in 2009 and is headquartered in Palm Springs, California. It started its community fan website in 2009 and by 2010, signed and was introduced to Sony’s gaming audiences in North America via the PlayStation Home community theater.[3]

Services

[edit]

The company operates the PSTatant Theater, a 3D virtual in-game movie theater on PlayStation Home in North America and European regions[4], and the PSTalent VOD Movie Channel with Sony Pictures Loot[5] and produces original video and music entertainment.

PlayStation Network outage

[edit]

After introducing its services on PlayStation Network on April 19, 2011, the company lasted only one day when the PlayStation 3 was hacked by the "Anonymous" and the PlayStation Network was taken off-line for 24 days. The attack occurred between April 17 and April 19, 2011,[6] forcing Sony to turn off the PlayStation Network on April 20.

Awards

[edit]

In October 2013, The Coachella Valley Economic Partnership (CVEP) nominated PSTalent's Levi Vincent as one of two finalists in the category "Emerging Entrepreneurs" in the 2013 Inland Empire Spirit of the Entrepreneur Awards.[7]
