Radio Javan is a Persian-language music streaming service launched in 2004. It was initially established as an online radio station for streaming music. Radio Javan now reaches millions of users worldwide who have access to songs, music videos, podcasts, music playlists, etc. Radio Javan is registered in Arlington, Virginia, USA. It supports talented artists. [1]

Radio Javan hosts tens of thousands of Persian songs recorded by record labels, independent artists, and its own record label (RJ Label) [2] on its platform. The Radio Javan app is available on iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac platforms with various features.

Radio Javan also has its own TV Channel (RJTV), which broadcasts music videos and entertainment programs 24/7. The TV is available via satellite in the Middle East and Europe, and is also available online.[3][4]

Radio Jawan also hosts music events and concerts in places such as Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, Toronto, London, Istanbul, Stockholm, Dubai, and more.[5]

Programs

[edit]

In recent years, Radio Javan has been offering other programs, such as audio and video interviews, in addition to broadcasting the latest Persian-language music.

“Gringo Show” is a program that airs on Fridays at 10:00 PM with a humorous format. Another program aired on this network is “Gaff Show,” which discusses current music videos in the voice of Mehrdad Raisi, an Iranian dubber. Another program is called “Jackpot,” which introduces casino games. Another program is called Spot, which interviews famous people on Fridays at 9:00 PM.

Termination of cooperation with Avang Music

[edit]

With the rise of King Records, Radio Javan cut ties with Avang Music. The first music video that Radio Javan refused to air was the "Mobham" music video for "Black Cats" by Avang Music, after Sami Beigi claimed that the song was stolen from him. The first music video that Avang Music refused to air on Radio Javan was a clip by Shadmehr Aghili called "Rabeteh".

On February 8, 2016, Radio Javan announced in a statement its official and renewed collaboration with Avang Company, and since that day, the company's old and new songs and music videos have been available to users. [6]

Criticisms

[edit]

One of the criticisms against this radio is the false counting of video visitors on this site; Armin Hashemi, the head of Awang, also implicitly mentioned this point in his interview with Sina Valiollah on the Chand Shanbe program [citation needed].

Another criticism was Radio Javan’s unfair judgment that the Black Cats and Payam Shams stole an obscure song from Sami Beigi’s studio.

The third criticism is the arbitrary removal of the names of the mixer and master, musicians, photographer, cover designer, etc. from the music cover, which is done without prior notice or permission from the singer or producer of the work, and has also been objected to by the cover designers. Therefore, Radio Javan’s management staff has given an explanation for this action in a statement, which is as follows:

The Radio Javan team has always tried to improve the quality of Iranian works and help them be heard better by synchronizing with global standards in the field of music. In this regard, new rules will be implemented regarding the beauty of music covers, as follows: The only information that can be on music covers includes the name of the singer, the name of the song, the name of the songwriter and the arranger. Of course, other names such as the names of the mixer and master, musicians, photographer, cover designer, broadcast manager, etc. cannot be on the cover; however, to protect the rights of these individuals, their names will be added to the "Credit" section of the Radio Javan website and app and will be available to the public.

Also, artists including Shahin Najafi, in criticizing Radio Javan and similar media outlets for turning art into a purely commercial environment, made revelations that this media outlet charges money to announce the best song or place a song at the top of the website, with the creators of that music receiving a fee.

Another criticism of Radio Javan was the removal of the option to download songs, which Radio Javan explained in a statement on July 19, 2018, as follows:

We would like to inform our regular Radio Javan followers that direct download links have been removed from the website and Telegram. The goal of this work is to improve the provision of music services in Radio Javan apps. You can easily sync (download) your favorite music tracks, albums, podcasts, and music videos from iPhone and Android apps and listen to music online or offline whenever and wherever you want. It is necessary to clarify that not all leading music apps in the world provide direct download links to users, and to use their content, you must use the relevant app.
