Resplendent Ceylon is a collection of Relais & Châteaux properties in Sri Lanka owned by the Fernando Family, who own Dilmah Tea. ^[1]

Merrill J. Fernando started Resplendent Ceylon with his two sons Malik and Dilhan^[2], in 2005. Malik J. Fernando currently serves as the chair. ^[3]

The first resort was Ceylon Tea Trails in 2005^[4], located in Hatton, Sri Lanka, part of the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka, a UNESCO world heritage site. The resort was also featured in Amazing Hotels by BBC.^[5] The resort was also the first in Sri Lanka to get selected to Relais & Châteaux in 2011. ^[6]

Cape Weligama, opened in 2014^[7] in Weligama, an area known for Surfing and was recently renovated in 2024.^[8]

Wild Coast Tented Lodge opened in 2017 ^[9] adjacent to Yala National Park, and the area is known for a high density of Sri Lankan leopard, sloth bear and many other species.

The resorts have been consistently recognized by Condé Nast Traveler including in it's prestigious gold list ^[10], Forbes^[11] and other luxury publications.
