Partha Nandi, MD, FACP is an American gastroenterologist, author, and television host, best known for creating and hosting the medical lifestyle television show Ask Dr. Nandi. He serves as the Chief Health Editor at WXYZ-TV in Detroit and is a public advocate for preventive health, integrative medicine, and community-based wellness initiatives.

Early life and education

Nandi was born in Kolkata, India, and immigrated to the United States during childhood. He completed his undergraduate studies at Ohio State University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar finalist. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Michigan Health System.

Medical career

Dr. Nandi is board-certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He maintains an active clinical practice while also focusing on education around nutrition, mindfulness, exercise, and social health as pillars of disease prevention.

Media and television career

In 2012, Nandi launched Ask Dr. Nandi, a syndicated medical talk show featuring interviews with experts and patient stories related to health and wellness. According to Hour Detroit, the program was developed in Metro Detroit and expanded to reach a national audience.[1]

The show has been profiled in local and regional media as a growing platform for public health messaging.[2][3]

In addition to his show, Nandi has served as the Chief Health Editor at Detroit's ABC affiliate, WXYZ-TV.[4]

Personal life

Nandi resides in Michigan with his wife, Kali Nandi, RN, who serves as Chief Operating Officer of their health-related ventures. They have four children and co-manage several initiatives including The Dr. Nandi Show and Dr. Nandi Charities.
