Draft:Aithos

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

AITHOS is an original and timely academic contribution. The concept of AITHOS — a portmanteau of AI and ethos — was first introduced by Professor Abdelghani NAIT-BRAHIM, Professor of English and American Studies, during the conference “Higher Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” held at the Teachers College of Oran in October 2025.

In his workshop entitled “Resisting the AI Tsunami: Innovative Strategies to Preserve Academic Humanity,” Professor Nait-Brahim coined AITHOS to describe a new ethical framework for the responsible and human-centered use of artificial intelligence in academia.

The concept emphasizes the need to integrate moral reflection, intellectual integrity, and human values into the use of AI technologies within higher education. AITHOS thus stands for an educational and cultural movement seeking to preserve academic authenticity, critical thinking, and ethical awareness in an era increasingly shaped by automation and digital intelligence.
