AL Baru Mustakim Nibir(Bengali: মুস্তাকিম নিবিড়) is a Bangladeshi journalist, talk show presenter and writer. [2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]
Early life
[edit]Mustakim Nibir was born on 30 August 1991 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. His ancestral home is in Gendaria. On December 25, 2015, he married Rokeya Akther. While working in the Media of Bangladesh. He resided in Gulshan,Bangladesh with his wife son and daughter. During his student years, Al Baru Mustakim Nibir was active in social movements against injustice and authoritarian practices. He served as a leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) student wing, Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Chatra Dal. His political involvement during student life helped shape his courage and critical perspective in later professional journalism.
Education
[edit]Mustakim Nibir completed his A-level and higher national diploma in applied business and accounting BiMS. He has also engaged in part-time at his family business of construction farm.
Career
[edit]Al Baru Mustakim Nibir is a Bangladeshi investigative journalist and crime reporter. He serves as the Head of the Crime and Investigation Cell at the The Manobkantha. Nibir has gained recognition for his bold reports on crime, corruption, drug trafficking, extortion, illegal shisha bars, and administrative irregularities in Dhaka and across Bangladesh. Several of his investigative reports have prompted direct law enforcement operations.
Career in Journalism
[edit]Mustakim Nibir began his career as a journalist with a focus on investigative reporting. At the The Manobkantha, he currently leads the Crime and Investigation section.
His Reports have Highlighted:
- Illegal shisha bars: He uncovered how clandestine shisha bars in Dhaka operated as hubs of drug use, alcohol consumption, and immoral activities. Following his reports, law enforcement authorities launched raids on several establishments.
- Drug and extortion networks: He exposed the nexus between drug dealers, extortionists, and their political patrons.
- Corruption and administrative malpractice: His work has revealed irregularities in government projects, road construction schemes, and links between powerful quarters and criminal groups.
His journalistic style is known for its fact-based reporting and fearless stance.
Political Involvement
[edit]Although Mustakim Nibir was once actively involved in student politics with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Chatra Dal, he has since maintained professional neutrality in his journalism.
