Part of the Tornado outbreak of May 18–21, 2013 and Tornadoes of 2013

During the afternoon hours of May 19, 2013, during a tornado outbreak sequence across the central United States, a violent tornado would track through Cleveland and Pottawatomie counties in Oklahoma, causing significant damage to homes around Lake Thunderbird and Shawnee, Oklahoma. The tornado, commonly referred to by the National Weather Service as the Lake Thunderbird - Shawnee tornado would track for 23 miles, claim 2 lives, and injure a further 10 with peak winds estimated to be 190 miles per hour.
