There are 4 ways to annotating an article, short story, or novel.
These are the different ways you can Annotate:
1. The Title
How you annotate a title is by analyzing it. Example: "Goosebumps:" by: R.L Stine is a Horror Type series that is meant to be scary , by looking at one of his covers you can predict what will be the problem and what will happen just by looking at the illustration and the name of the book
2. Work Cited
Work Cited is how you sort your resources and how you give credit to your references, if you don't give credit to your references then it is considered plagiarism. The first step is to get the creator or author's name and list it as it is below.
1. Craft, Mary
The next step is to get the name of the website and list is next to the authors name.
2. Craft, Mary. "Fun Times by the River and other Tales". The last step is to list the publisher and when you used this recourse.

3. Setting
What Setting does is it helps you understand how the surrounding area or location the story takes place, this can help you identify the mood of the conversation or location. This is meant to help the reader also see through the character's eyes and will help lead to what will happen next. Example: " The cold wind hit my face an I entered the dead room, not a noise was to be heard until a door creaked open". This shows the intensity of the moment with anything able to happen.
4. Symbolism
Symbolism is many things. It's when one thing is said but it means something else. The Colors shown below are known to represent different things and meanings. They can be seen throughout almost every movie or book.
Examples:
Blue: Rebirth
Green: Growth and decay
Purple/Orange: Royalty
Black: Death
