A time delay and integration (TDI) charge-coupled device (CCD) is a multi-line line-scan CCD used in equipment that must capture high speed movement with high sensitivity unobtainable using conventional CCD arrays or even with single-line-scan devices.[1]

TDI operation

The TDI CCD improves upon the single-line-scan system by adding the photocharges of its multiple lines.
