The Launchpad is a popular MIDI controller by Novation and Ableton.

Functionality

The 64-pad controller has 4 modes:

•Session mode, for playing and stopping MIDI and audio clips in Ableton Live, and recording.

•User 1 mode, used for playing drums and instruments in Ableton Live.

•User 2 mode, for custom MIDI mapping to Ableton Live's parameters.

•Mixer mode, for stopping, soloing, muting, mixing, panning, and for effect sends.
