Title
Biography titles
The article should be titled in the name the subject is best known as and reflect the name used in the preponderance of sources included in the article. as in:
- Richard Landis
When disambiguation is necessary record producer is the recommended standard DAB. as in: - John Fields (record producer)
If two record producers with the same name require disambiguation, they should be further DABed by nationality. as in: - Ken Nelson (British record producer) and,
- Ken Nelson (United States record producer)
The articles should be linked by placing a hat-note atop of each. (see the examples given)
Discography titles
The standard form for a record producers discography is as follows:
- Richard Landis production discography If the subject is also a notable recording artist, It is consistent to title their discography in the form used for artists. as in:
- Richard Landis discography In some cases when both careers are extensive there may be two discographies, one for the artist's credits and one for the record production credits. These should be linked through a "see also" section. When a record producer has only a production discography. It is recommended to title a redirect in the artists form to enhance search-ability.
Lead introductions
A record producer operates on staff and at leisure of the executive producer. The executive producer and subordinate elements are classified as music professionals. For this reason the project endorses referring to them as professionals. It is therefor consistent when disambiguating the birth name from the working form to follow this example:
"Andre Romelle Young (born February 18, 1965), professionally known by his stage name Dr. Dre, is an..." or;
"Brian Peter George St. John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno (born 15 May 1948), professionally known as Brian Eno or simply as Eno, is an..."
