WikiProject Tourism was started on May 16, 2007 to coordinate work for and expand coverage of tourism and related subjects in the English Wikipedia.

Anyone who is interested in contributing, please sign up below and post any ideas and suggestions on the Talk page. Also, feel free to edit this page and add any articles that need serious work or that you feel require attention below in the Tasks section.

Scope and Introduction

This WikiProject aims to coordinate and help maintain the development of and improvements to articles related to tourism. Below, you will find tasks, and other information related to the WikiProject.

Participants

To become a project member, please edit this section to add your name, along with an optional short bio to the bottom. You may also add the the {{User WPTOUR}} userbox to your user page to identify yourself as a member of the project. We currently need as much help as we can get, so please consider signing up.


Coordinators

Coordinators are volunteers that are interested in helping "running" the project in a way. This does not mean that they control the project, or are the "CEOs" of it. It means that they would like to accept a responsibility.

  1. Cool Blue (talk · contribs) - I am the creator of the project, and the current Lead Coordinator. I plan to spend a lot of time with the Project.

Feel free to add any tourism-related articles that need to be addressed or improved, in addition to general tasks.

  • Assess as many articles as we can. We're just starting off, and we need as much help as we can get.

Continuous

  • Keep all tourism-related articles properly categorized.
  • Patrol changes to tourism-related articles.
  • Add {{TourismProject}} to the talk pages of all Pittsburgh-related articles.
  • Add the {{tourism-stub}} template to all existing Pittsburgh-related stub articles.
  • Add all Pittsburgh-related articles that get frequent changes or are susceptible to vandalism to the Project Watchlist.
  • Target Pittsburgh-related articles to take to Good or Featured status.

These are potential articles that project members have requested be created for the Wikipedia. If you know of a notable subject for an article that isn't listed here and want to create the article right away, please do so.
