First of all, while the vast majority of rapes and sexual assaults in this case concerned Gisèle Pelicot, there was another victim, the wife of Jean-Pierre Maréchal, who was also raped by Dominique Pelicot. Both her case and that of Gisèle Pelicot were adjudicated at the same time, so it was really one case with two victims (although Gisèle is by far the most famous one, because of the sheer number of offences against her and also because unlike Mrs Maréchal she made her name and face public), with Dominique Pelicot being a co-offender in all cases.
Also, Dominique Pelicot is under investigation for two additional crimes, one of which he has confessed: so there will probably be at least another trial, which will not involve Gisèle Pelicot, but Dominique.
Since both Gisèle and Dominique share the name Pelicot, using the proposed title will allow us to encompass all the crimes committed by Dominique, while also keeping Gisèle as a subject of the article. Psychloppos (talk) 16:45, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Support. The current title puts an undue amount of focus on Gisèle Pelicot over the other accusers, while the proposed alternative is inclusive of both Pelicots and thus better encapsulates the entire case. TRCRF22 (talk) 20:03, 9 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
