I'll read the article and post my notes shortly. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 01:26, 20 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

PCN02WPS, great work! I have no complaints about the prose, and only a few minor comments about sourcing and weight. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 01:56, 20 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

PCN02WPS I'm in no rush, but it's been a week so I wanted to check in and ask whether there's a timeframe on responding to this. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 19:52, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Lead:

Early life and education:

  • No notes.

Career:

  • Some of the content here might be undue. A list of things that happened as Presbyterian isn't necessary if the sources don't confirm that he was involved. This includes the name of the chairman for the Promise and Challenge Campaign and the fact that the school moved to NCAA Division I.
    • Removed Staton as chairman but I would argue to keep the move to D1 since that was (in my opinion) the biggest change during his presidency and that kind of change does not happen without involvement of the school administration. If you disagree let me know and I'll see what I can do. PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 18:24, 5 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • The only possible text-source integrity problem I found while checking sources is that the article says he "began" the Promise and Challenge Campaign, but the source only supports that his ideas led to it without commenting on whether he personally founded it.
  • Is there any reason why some of his chairmanships from [2] Covington News aren't mentioned in the article?
    • I left these off mainly because I didn't want to just essentially copy the list from the source (and I'm not sure how best to avoid that since the whole list is pretty much proper nouns) - I added some and I think it sounds alright without getting too close to close paraphrasing (let me know if you disagree) PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 18:33, 5 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Personal life:

  • I'm hesitant to include the grandchildren, in part because that number could change at any time without the source being updated. Given that it's a minor personal life detail, I'd consider removing it

References:

  • Noting for posterity that while Ancestry.com as a source is discouraged (WP:ANCESTRY), it's hosting a yearbook which should be a reliable source for this claim.
