The Portable Modular Data Center (PMDC) is a portable data center solution built into a 20, 40, or 53-foot Intermodal container (shipping container). It can be stored easily and deployed when needed to augment traditional data centers or provide backup functionality in the event of a disaster.

A PMDC (Portable Modular Data Center) ensures network connectivity in disaster zones where standard power and communication systems are disrupted. Typically, PMDCs include a diesel generator for power, servers, and other computing resources, along with cooling units to manage the heat from high-density computing. They also feature internet connectivity, often through satellite up-links.

Portability

The Portable Modular Data Center is either fully or partially loaded with computer equipment and can be transported using standard shipping methods. The PMDC is weather-resistant, insulated, and can be placed in many environments.[1]
