William Cosentini wurde 1911 zum italienischen Einwanderer Eltern, Eugenio und Vincenza Cosentini geboren. William war das zweite Kind geboren. Er hatte einen älteren Bruder, John (geb. 1909) und eine jüngere Schwester, Mary (geb. 1913).<br />

Er besuchte die [[New York University]] wo er seinen Master in Maschinenbau. Im Jahre 1944 heiratete er Rose Destefano und sie gemeinsam hatten zwei Kinder. Rose starb 1947 mit 36 Jahren. <ref>http://www.newspapers.com/newspage/54498993/</ref><br />

Im Jahre 1951 gründete er WR Cosentini & Associates und das Unternehmen später als Cosentini Associates bekannt.
