==Song information==
In the song, Madonna talks back to the critics who savaged her in the early 1990s when her ''[[Erotica (album)|Erotica]]'' album, ''[[Sex (book)|Sex]]'' book, and ''[[Body of Evidence (film)|Body of Evidence]]'' movie came out; she always says it's "a little 'fuck you' to all the up-tight [[prude|prudes]] of the world". It contains the angry and confronting line directed towards her critcs : "I'm not your bitch don't hang your shit on me." While effective, the profanity would have caused problems for the song to be played on contemporary radio. The radio edit of the song cut this line out, thus reducing the bite the song otherwise would have had. In the "Chorus Door Slam with Nine Sample" version of the song, a door is literally heard slamming over the word "shit".

Madonna's record label wanted to release a more radio-friendly pop track for the fourth single off the album, "Don't Stop" but Madonna wanted to release "Human Nature" instead and ended up getting her wish.

The song samples "What You Need" as performed by [[Hip hop music|hip-hop]] group [[Main Source]].

While "Human Nature" became Madonna's second consecutive single not to enter the top 40, it still was a smash on the dance and club charts.

In the UK the single entered at its #8 peak and free-falled thereafter. The UK single cover was a shot of Madonna from the video, clad in leather and sat on a chair.

The video, directed by [[Jean-Baptiste Mondino]] featured Madonna, her dancers (including the first collaboration with Jamie King, that later would become her choreographer for "Re-invention Tour" and "Confessions Tour"), and her chihuahua, Chiquita, in black leather outfits. The dancing was intercut with brief shots of [[Bondage (BDSM)|bondage]] imagery including a woman in a [[monoglove]] [[Strappado bondage|strappado]]. At the end of the video, the music cuts out suddenly and Madonna says "absolutely no regrets" reinforcing her point one last time. The video was nominated for two [[MTV Video Music Awards]], Best Dance Video and Best Choreography. It is also featured on the video compilation "The Video Collection 93:99". The video was heavily inspired by comic artist, [[Eric Stanton]].

'''"Communication Breakdown"''' is a song by [[England|English]] [[rock music|rock]] band [[Led Zeppelin]], from their [[1969]] debut album ''[[Led Zeppelin (album)|Led Zeppelin]]''. It was one of the first songs that [[Jimmy Page]] and [[Robert Plant]] worked on together.

The pounding guitar riff was one that Page has stated is difficult to play because of the constant, quick downstroke with the pick. He used a small, miked Supro [[amplifier]] throughout; and ran his lead guitar through a fully closed Vox wah pedal to create the "guitar in a shoebox" sound on the lead. "Communication Breakdown" is also one of the few songs that Page sang a [[Backup vocalist|backing vocal]] on.

The song was a popular live number at [[Led Zeppelin concerts]], and, along with "[[Heartbreaker_(Led_Zeppelin_song)|Heartbreaker]]" was the only song to be played during every year that the band toured. It usually either opened shows or was played as an [[Encore_(concert)|encore]].

In the documentary ''Ramones: The True Story'', Page's speeded up, downstroke guitar riff is cited as guitarist [[Johnny Ramone]]'s inspiration for - and basis of - his punk-defining, strictly downstroke guitar strumming.
