ESET NOD32 Antivirus commonly known as NOD32, is an antivirus package made by the Slovak company ESET. The following Operating Systems are supported by different ESET products: Microsoft Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, Novell NetWare, Windows Mobile platform, and others. A NOD32 Enterprise Edition package for businesses is also available that consists of NOD32 AntiVirus and NOD32 Remote Administrator.

History
NOD32 was created in the early 1990s when computer viruses were becoming increasingly prevalent.

Initially the program gained popularity with IT workers in Eastern European countries, as ESET was based in Slovakia. Though the program's abbreviation was originally pronounced as individual letters, recent worldwide use of the program has led to the more common single-word pronunciation, sounding like the English word nod. The company reached its 3000th update to virus definitions on April 3, 2008.

The acronym NOD stands for "Nemocnica na Okraji Disku" (hospital at the edge of the disk), a pun related to the Czechoslovakian medical drama series Nemocnica na okraji mesta (hospital at the edge of the city).
4.0 Beta
Released on November 18, 2008, The new beta versions of Eset NOD32 4.0 were released for limited public testing.
ESET claim that 4.0 includes improvement in detection and cleaning, the integration of Eset SysInspector SysRescue, Mozilla Thunderbird support and a self-defense module.

ESET SysRescue
ESET developed an entirely new wizard for creating a Bootable CD and USB key. After installing the Microsoft Windows Automated Installation Kit v1.1, the wizard creates an ISO image Live CD with installed Anti-virus and allows burning it on CD or copying it on a mass storage device. Users can boot the computer from this recovery medium, scan as well as clean the infected system and afterwards reboot a clean system

SysInspector Integration
In version 4.0 beta SysInspector is diagnostic tool allowing in depth analysis of various aspects of the operating system, including running processes, registry content, startup items and network connections. The Anti-Stealth Technology discovers hidden objects (rootkits) in MBR, registry entries, drivers, services and processes. SysInspector Logs are standardized and can be submitted to IT experts for further analysis. Included is also the possibility of comparing two existing logs to find a set of items not common to both logs.

Technical information
NOD32 is written largely in assembly code, which contributes to its claimed low use of system resources and high scanning speed.

On a network, NOD32 clients can update from a central "mirror server" on the network.

ESET Smart Security
"Rockstar" is an alternative rock song by the Canadian rock band Nickelback from their 2005 fifth studio album All the Right Reasons. It was originally released as the fifth single off the album in the U.S., around the same time as the fourth single "Far Away". The song has since had a re-release, and although during the song's original release "Far Away" was more successful on the U.S. Hot 100 and U.S. Pop charts, "Rockstar" instead found moderate success on the rock charts. It peaked at #4 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, and #37 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart. It entered the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #54, during it's original run.

The song was re-shipped to radio for adds on June 05, 2007. Since its re-release, it has become active on most charts again, and already reached new peaks on charts like The Hot 100 (so far climbing to #24), The Adult Top 40, and Pop 100. It has also registered on charts it didn't the first time, such as the Pop 100 Airplay.

Song meaning
The song details the stereotype that most people have about the life of a rockstar. The lead singer, Chad Kroeger, assumes the role of a person wanting to get to that life. It also features many cliches and popular beliefs of what fame can get one.

Mysterious spoken-word vocals between each verse are provided by the Reverend Billy F. Gibbons of ZZ Top. Gibbons assumes the role of the rock star who has already made it,asking some challenging questions to the would-be newcomer.

Music video
For unknown reasons, when the song was first released in August of 2006, a music video wasn't made for the single, perhaps because the band had just recently released their video for "Far Away". However, on June 7, 2007 it was reported on VideoStatic.com that a video is planned to be shot with director Dori Oskowitz,(the same person who worked on their If Everyone Cared video), to accompany the song's re-release.

After playing the song live, Chad Kroeger told fans at the July 13th show in Mansfield, MA that they had just been shooting video for the "Rockstar" music video. Prior to playing it on the following night in Hershey PA the crowd was told that crowd shots would be used in the video for the last lines in the song.

Trivia
The song makes several references to pop culture including the main character of the song wanting a house on MTV Cribs, which is ironic because Chad Kroeger, the band's frontman, appeared on an episode.
Also various Playboy references are made, along with references to Anorexia, for example a part of the lyrics go "We'll all stay skinny, cause we just won't eat.
The song also references Hollywood's Walk of Fame, citing that a spot between James Dean and Cher (who actually does not have a star) would be fine. (Nickelback is on the Canadian Walk of Fame though)
Road Rash is the name of a motorcycle-racing video game series by Electronic Arts, in which the player participates in violent illegal street races.

Overview
Presented in a third-person view similar to Hang-On, the player competes in road races, and must finish in the top 3 places in every race in order to proceed to the next level. As levels progress, the opponents ride faster, fight harder and the tracks are longer and more dangerous. Placing in each race gives a certain amount of money which increases considerably subsequently as levels progressed. This money allows the player to buy faster bikes which are needed to stay competitive. The game is over if the player can't pay for the repairs when their motorcycle is wrecked, or can't pay the fine for being arrested. There are many cheat codes available for this game, including one which gives you the Wild Thing 2000 --- a superbike not normally available.
